Up and... Running?

Ok, so this has been an idea in my head for so long. I have previously made an "aquarium" simulation in C, but the idea to make it available on a website is a thing I've been wanting to do.
This first version only has soil and all it does is fall down. The fetching of data is bad, I know. I am looking into some web socket solution. This could be a perfect project to motivate me learning python!
Now, the headline indicates that the code isn't running. That is because to make things happen the cron needs to run, and I haven't set it up yet, I only start it manually. We'll see how that will change though.
